Resin Flooring. Done Properly
Resin flooring has many advantages compared to other surface types, but it must be done properly by a professional company with experience.
What is resin flooring?
Resin flooring is a hard-wearing plastic surface that’s created by mixing together various ingredients. The mixing initiates a chemical reaction between polymers which then creates a chemical bond - and this bond is the continuous floor surface that is known as resin flooring!
The process including the chemical reaction creates a highly durable finish which is ideal for heavy use environments such as catering kitchens and warehouses.
The benefits of resin flooring
The seamless surface of resin flooring means that the floor can easily be cleaned and dirt cannot get trapped in areas that are hard to reach; making it perfect for environments that need to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness. Resin flooring is perfect for schools, kitchens, hospitals and factories - especially if you are processing food ingredients!
Because resin flooring is durable, it’s also ideal for environments where the surface may be put under considerable stress from large amounts of people, machinery or fork-lift trucks. Whereas tile flooring or concrete can become cracked or chipped easily, resin flooring is much more durable and is less likely to need repairing or replacing.
Resin Flooring to suit your needs
At M Coatings, we understand that every workplace has different needs. That’s why we offer resin flooring with different designs. As well as different looking finishes, we can alter the resin floor mix, for example, to include aggregates that result in a higher degree of slip resistance making it perfect for potentially dangerous and slippery areas such as swimming pools or kitchens where liquids might settle on the floor surface. The degree of slip resistance can also be altered offering a range from having a small amount of extra grip to being a very high level of slip resistance.

There are also 3 types of resin flooring, each with different benefits:
- Epoxy
- Methyl Methacrylate (MMA)
- Polyurethane (PU)
Epoxy is the most widely used and well known but whereas Epoxy has a temperature resistance of 60 degrees celsius, Polyurethane can withstand temperatures as high as 120 degrees and is much quicker to install. This type of resin flooring is also typically longer lasting.
Choosing the right resin flooring and the right company to install it is important for your business.
M Coatings has many years’ experience creating resin flooring for businesses; supporting them to make sure they have the right resin flooring to suit their needs.
